The Third Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities was held from 2 to 4 March 2016 in Bangkok. The Session was hosted by the Royal Government of Thailand through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
Information for All: The ESCAP-CDPF Workshop on Accessible Knowledge, Information and Communication for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific, was held from 15 to 17 December 2015 in Shanghai, China, in partnership with the Government of China, China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and Shanghai Municipal Government.
The Second Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities was organized by ESCAP in cooperation with the Government of India through the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment from 2 to 3 March 2015 in New Delhi, India. The Session was convened in pursuance of the recommendations made and the rules of procedure adopted by the Working Group, at its First Session (25-26 February 2014, Incheon, Republic of Korea).

Expert Group Meeting on Effective Data Generation for the Incheon Strategy IndicatorsThe Meeting was organized by the Social Development Division in cooperation with the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The Meeting brought together disability policy experts and statisticians from selected Governments of the Asia-Pacific region as well as representatives of concerned international organizations. It had three main objectives:

Consultative Meeting of Champions and Promoters of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022Champions and Promoters of the new Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022, met at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok on 9 and 10 October to strategize and review a roadmap to promote the implementation of the Incheon Strategy to ‘Make the Right Real’ for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific. The roadmap will provide a framework to support the achievement of the 10 goals of the Incheon Strategy.
