Mr. Oyunbaatar Tseden, President, Mongolian National Federation of Disabled People’s Organizations, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

 

Mr. Oyunbaatar Tseden is an author and lecturer at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and at the Mongolian-Korean Technical College. He has been the president of the Mongolian National Federation of Disabled People’s Organizations since 2004. Under his leadership, the Mongolian National Federation of Disabled People’s Organizations produced inputs that were used to amend 23 articles of nine laws related to disability issues, including on labour, transportation, tax, social insurance and sports. To achieve these changes, Mr. Tseden mobilized and worked with a dedicated group of 29 Parliamentarians.

Previously, in parallel with his work at the university, he had been president of the Association of Disabled Business Persons and the Executive Director of the Kind Heartedness Fund.

As President of the Mongolian National Federation of Disabled People’s Organizations, Mr. Tseden has been instrumental in introducing many legal reforms in Mongolia on labour, sports, transportation and taxation issues, in favour of persons with disabilities. In 2009, he also helped organize a nation-wide survey on the implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities in Mongolia.

The Mongolian Parliament has awarded Mr. Tseden with Mongolia’s most significant prize, the “CYNOSURE”, in appreciation of his relentless work for persons with disabilities.
