Regional Stakeholder Consultation for the High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of the Implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012

The Social Development Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized a Regional Stakeholder Consultation for the Final Review of the Implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012, from 14 to 16 December 2011 in Bangkok. The objectives of this Consultation were:  

  • To review the key issues identified by governments and civil society as contained in the responses to surveys conducted by the secretariat on the implementation of the Second Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012. 
  • To seek the inputs and views of stakeholders on the proposed outcome document for the High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of the Implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012 to be held at Incheon, Republic of Korea from 29 October to 2 November 2012 .

The Consultation was attended by representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities, development organizations, United Nations entities, and other key stakeholders.
