First session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Korea, through its Ministry of Health and Welfare, convened the First Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022, from 25 to 26 February 2014 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. 

The Working Group is composed of 30 members, 15 from member States and 15 from civil society organizations. Its main responsibility is to provide technical advice and support to ESCAP members and associate members, to promote the full and effective implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022. Membership of the Working Group was decided by the Commission at its sixty-ninth session.  

The Working Group, at its First session, considered and adopted the Rules of Procedure and the draft road map for the implementation of the Incheon Strategy  to “Make the Right Real” for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific.
