Mainstreaming of disability inclusion, participation, and partnerships

• [10 March 2020] The Emergency Response Plan to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) introduces measures for persons with disabilities in terms of clinical care and public health management, social welfare and support, as well as communication and consultation.

Continued access to goods and services 

• [November 2020] Disability outpatient services have been relocated to enable physical separation from where COVID-19 cases would be treated.

Medical and quarantine policies and processes 

• [26 February 2021] Persons with disabilities have been considered and prioritized within the Cook Islands’ vaccine roll-out.

Social protection and employment support

• [n.d.] The one-off welfare payment of $400 has been given to old age pensioners, caregivers and the infirm and destitute who are registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
